Description:	The enactment in May of 2011 of the Migration Act in Mexico generated a series of expectations in the various sectors of Mexican society that have been working in the defense of the human rights of migrants. This paper reviews the achieved progress in the protection of migrant rights, and also reflects upon those issues that were not regulated by the aforementioned Act in order to be able to guarantee these rights. La promulgación en mayo de 2011 de la Ley de Migración en México, generó una serie de expectativas en los diversos sectores de la sociedad mexicana que han venido trabajando en la defensa de los Derechos Humanos de las personas migrantes. En este trabajo además de revisar algunos avances en cuanto a la protección de derechos de los migrantes, se reflexiona sobre lo que se omitió regular por dicha legislación para hacer realidad la garantía de dichos derechos.
